Now a day, sustainable agricultural practice for increased production is most significant concerns. The fertile agricultural land is reducing day by day due to increased population and overburden of excessive use of chemical fertilizer and pesticides. The uses of immobilized pure culture microorganisms and their extremozymes and the microbial consortium have increased demand. It is observed that immobilized microbial pure culture and the microbial consortium have been repeatedly reused and there was no decline in efficiency of immobilized cells. Thus, usage of immobilized microbial pure culture and microbial consortium (such as Burkholderia, Azotobacter, Azospirillium,Pseudomonas, Rhizobium Bacillus, and Serratia and Plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) like Methylobacterium, Exiguobacterium, Azoarcus, Paenibacillus and Pantoea etc.) isolated from specialized niches may be promising application in agriculture for improved crop productivity.
